When Hurricane Frederick destroyed his home in 1979, Leonard Kaiser took the challenge and decided it was an opportunity to do something new. With his newly minted real estate license, the resourceful 29-year-old took his short two years in the industry and founded Kaiser Realty,Inc. “I saw the opportunities that would be available following the storm and knew the future potential for our area in real estate development and vacation rentals,” he says. “I have certainly
witnessed the amazing growth of our area and the real estate industry over the last 46 years.”
That amazing growth and many years of hard work brought with it incredible success to Kaiser Realty, Inc. In fact, under Kaiser’s expertise, dedication, and determination, the firm became one of the area’s largest vacation rental, property management, and real estate sales companies. As they often do, growth and success brought change. In December 2012, Wyndham Vacation Rentals acquired the vacation rental and association management divisions of the company. Four years later, Leonard transitioned the real estate sales side of the business into Kaiser Sotheby’s International Realty. “In 2016, my two oldest daughters, Andrea Kaiser Shilston and Erin Kaiser—both of whom are Realtors involved in our company—joined me in a search for a franchise that would share our established company culture and our goal to grow through quality, not quantity.
